Cartographic help! Have to use brand colors

Hi all,

I have been asked to only use brand colors for the polygons on a qualitative map. Below is what I came up with after quite a bit of trial and error. Please let me know if you have an arrangement of these colors that would look better! Or any advice. In my opinion, I think this looks terrible. Maybe you think it looks great - I'll take that feedback (and reassurance!) also. The marketing dept thinks this looks great.  🤔 I'll also show you all of the brand colors I could choose from.

@JohnMNelson If you have time? I would love your take on this and if you've ever had to only use a certain set of colors for your work? Thanks - from across Lake "Wisconsin" - ok, ok, Lake Michigan. 😊

Personally, I would:

* Make the region boundaries a tad thicker and darker
* Probably increase the size of the region callouts
* Limit the fill colors to just 4-5 unique colors

Given the limited colours on tap, maybe try sticking to the 1/5/8 shades to minimize the overall intensity, that way any clashing is minimized. If possible you can do the 1/5 shades, plus 1+5 diagonal stripe combos which you can use to "break up" the map a bit.
