Hi,
I’ve encountered an issue with StoryMaps in ArcGIS Online and would like to know whether this is expected behavior.
When I create a StoryMap in ArcGIS Online, I then share it with a group that has share update capability. I am the owner of the StoryMap, and students in the group edit it through the group’s update privileges.
However, when someone publishes the StoryMap, it automatically becomes unshared from the group. As soon as this happens, the item disappears from the group, and the students no longer have access to edit it. This makes collaborative work difficult because students suddenly lose access after publishing.
I discovered a workaround: If I publish the StoryMap first, and only then share it with the group, the sharing is not removed on subsequent publishes.
But the behavior still confuses me, when items unexpectedly disappeared from the group.
So my question is:
Is this the intended behavior for StoryMaps shared with update share capability groups, or is something not working correctly?
Thanks for any clarification!
