The February 2026 release of ArcGIS GeoBIM introduces key improvements to Autodesk Revit workflows. This includes support for georeferencing Revit models using their internal coordinate system, 3D model generation based on Revit’s default 3D view, and support for Revit 2026 when generating 2D documents. Together, these updates make BIM-to-GIS workflows more consistent and easier to manage at scale.
Improved Georeferencing for Revit Files
ArcGIS GeoBIM now provides expanded support for georeferencing Autodesk Revit models. The Syncing Tools automatically read a Revit model’s internal coordinate system (EPSG/WKID), resulting in more reliable placement of BIM data in GIS. This reduces manual adjustments and improves spatial confidence across projects.
Revit Default 3D View–Based Syncing
When running Add Document Models, ArcGIS GeoBIM now uses the default 3D view defined in the Revit file to generate simplified geometry. This ensures more predictable 3D results, improves consistency across project data, and provides greater control over what content is synced and shared with stakeholders.
Support for Revit 2026
ArcGIS GeoBIM now supports Autodesk Revit 2026 files for 2D data. The 'Add Document Models' tool (3D Simplified Models) doesn't support Revit 2026 at the moment.
Improvements to the Document Explorer Widget (ArcGIS Experience Builder)
Filtered Folder View
You can now limit the folder tree to display only folders selected on the GeoBIM Tools page. This simplifies navigation in large ACC projects while still allowing users to toggle back to the full folder structure when needed.
Faster Document Search Performance
Search results now return significantly faster, reducing delays when working with hundreds of files. Project and folder ordering remain aligned with ACC, allowing users to locate documents more efficiently while ensuring a more responsive and scalable experience for enterprise environments.
