I am using the new ArcGIS Online map viewer and I am using the Find Closest tool to calculate the closest distance between nearest features from two layers.
In the tool, I set the Measurement Type to Line Distance. The resulting field in the Connecting Lines layer is called Straight Line Distance (Kilometres) with the distance to 2 decimal places. There doesn't seem to be a way to calculate this in metres. My features are always less than 1 km apart so the 2 decimal precision of the km distance is not adequate. The Classic map viewer produced this in metres. I have tried changing the projection but this had no effect.
If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.
