How do I get defunct or incorrect roads removed?

If I see a non existent road such as going up the side of mountain on my property or a road that goes to the wrong place.   Who do I report it too?

 

Stuff like this is leading many people to cross my private property only to find a road closed sign placed by the US forest service, then they have to turn around and come back.

It will depend on the data source, which isn't always easy to tell just from the basemap credits. Folks may see a "road" on Google, Bing, Esri, etc., but each of those providers may source their street data from multiple places depending on the region.

Most map providers will give you some mechanism to report issues with the basemap, though. Esri has a support article about it:
