Snapping Tool based on common attribute field rather than distance

For those who don't know python/scripting, it would be great to have a snapping tool available to snap to another feature layer by a common attribute field, rather than by distance

It would be beneficial to have both a common attribute field and distance as selectable options when using the arcpy.edit.Snap tool.
