Snapping Geoprocessing Tool doesnt do anything

I have a bunch of property boundaries that were all made by a bunch of different companies so they are all just slightly misaligned to each other. I wanted to correct this so all the lines neatly match up as parcels should be. So I had been tracing them but its taking forever to do all of them so thought I'd try to use the snap geoprocesing tool. here is my process:

1. Use the densify tool to add vertices around the polygon of the feature I want to alter so there are more snap locations

2. Use the Snap tool against the selected polygon I want it snapped to, type edge, 50 ft distance

And just nothing happens... No points are moved, I've tried altering the snap environment but nothing moves the point. What am I doing wrong? The documentation literally says to do exactly what I want but when I try it just doesn't do anything at all.

I just had some success by removing some of the Snap Env options. It would seem that using all options would cover your bases- snap to vertices first, if that doesn't work snap to edge, and finally snap to any ends. I used all options with a distance of 3m (all my lines are offset between 1 and 2 meters.  Nothing happened. I removed the edge and end options, snapping only to vertices, and it worked. I don't have a good explanation for that, it doesn't seem to follow the tool description, but with Arc, there is usually a work-around to the work-around which finally achieves what should have happened in the first place.
