Multi Layer Feature Table

Question

Is there a way to use a single feature table for multiple feature layers?

Currently only way I have been able to do this is create feature table for each layer. This is not feasible for my scenario, because I can have anywhere between 1-N layers depending on category.

You could have some UI, like a dropdown that would change the layer property on the table.
