MapView Highlight Halo Line Width in 4.23

Question

I have a mapView that highlights features on click, but I'd like to increase the thickness of the border/halo as users have (justifiably) pointed out that it can be very hard to see, especially we've disabled the fill. I can adjust the halo color and opacity per highlightOptions as described here, but I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the line width/thickness. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you ever resolve this, Patrick? I find it very odd that line width is not among the attributes that you can manipulate with the same ease as halo color, opacity, etc. I found a semi-work-around in an earlier API version but in 4.29, that work-around creates havoc. Figured there would be a simpler, more elegant solution.
