I'm getting the error referencing ver 2. for only one of my maps beginning yesterday. I was in the same map 2 days before making data additions and edits without problem. Other maps open without problem. Tried accessing in IE 9, firefox and opera with the same results. Cleared cache in IE but no change.
Being a SL developer I have had these cache issues before... but ExplorerOnline is being very persistent.
There's no new information on this - the current Explorer Online and ArcGIS.com map viewer both read and write the same version web map. Again, if you can share the maps that you have a problem with, we can double-check the contents and check opening the maps. There's a few things that I would check:1. Is there any caching in the environment - e.g. is there a corporate proxy perhaps that could be handing back an old version to the browsers on your machine? (this really isnt my area, but I think given that all your browsers behave the same, it sounds like a sensible place to start).2. Seeing as you said you'd got a range of browsers, I guess you'll have IE - check your IE cache and see what the Last Modified date is on the ExplorerOnline.xap that will be in your cache. For the latest version of Explorer Online, mine is 29th September 2011 - so if it's older than that, close IE and try manually deleting this (and any other cached files relating to explorer.arcgis.com), and re open IE, and then see what gets downloaded, and if the Last Modified date is newer. Similar for other browsers, but you'd need to install an approrpriate cache viewer.
Same issue here (9/28/2011)Cleared Cache in Chrome. Didn't work.Tried it on different workstations and different browsers. Using Chrome and IE8. Same error.Older webmaps seem ok. I can open them in Explorer Online.I create a web map, save, then try and open it in Explorer online and get the "Unsupported webmap version number (1.4)Older webmap that works: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=cc57979c38b64350a34800972c8de266tests 1, 2, and 3 that get the error:http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=877346d0a7d0406dac24df225d9cd9c8http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=973e5897ead945a59a2b121d63d331bbhttp://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=5539a1f0423f4f138e7f2f417a5cc33e
Travis,Explorer online was updated at the same time as ArcGIS Online. It sounds like your browser has the previous version cached. Clear your browser cache which will ensure you are working latest version of explorer online and try to open the map again.Andy
