Is there any functional difference between a Shapefile created with ArcMap 10.6.1 and one created with ArcMap 10.3.1?

Our organization is contemplating a move from ArcMap 10.3.1 to ArcMap 10.6.1 or later, and we have some worriers. Is there any functional difference between a shapefile created in one version and a shapefile created in another? How about an address locator?

Anyone had any problems making this transition?

Shapefiles are unchanged.

As for geocoding, I don't use ArcMap, but ArcGIS Pro give a 'history' of the  situation

looks like stuff was ported from arcmap 10.3 and any changes noted are those that were done in ArcGIS Pro.

Perhaps the ArcMap help has a similar history link.

BTW, arcmap 10.7 is out.
