New Map Viewer Scale Display

How do I display the current scale I am viewing on a web map in ArcGIS Online? Specifically I am using the new Map Viewer but I would also like to know how to do this in Map Viewer Classic. Thanks.

@RobinHolland Did you find a way to do this? I'm using the new map viewer and don't see a way to view the scale.
