pass URL parameters to Near Me Widget

I saw document on passing URL parameters to query but what I need is to have the parameters to Near Me Widget. Any guidance/ help is greatly appreciated. It's best if I can customize for the string to appear in the Near Me Widget textbox too. Thanks a bunch.
