GIS Tutorial 1 Basic Workbook- Data for Completing Tutorials and Exercises not there

Question

Hello,

I'm going through Tutorial 1-2, and the book directs me to browse to \EsriPress\GIST1\UnitedStates.gdb, click COCounties layer>Add.

The data set I downloaded from Esri doesn't have anything within UnitedStates.gdb, so I can't click on COCounties layer. Any idea why?

connect to that folder (.gdb) first, this adds a folder workspace (in this case the workspace would be the FGDB) as a connection.  Then via the add data wizard you should then see the feature classes within the FGDB as per the book.
