The Field Maps web app is for configuring and deploying maps and layers; it's not designed to collect data. However, you could use the new Map Viewer application to collect information. Its editing interface uses the forms created in Field Maps. I don't see an option to get your current location in the new Map Viewer though.
Thanks, ArcGIS QuickCapture might be a better solution for us because some of our field personnel are collecting while inside a car (for security and safety purposes). We are still new to all these solutions so we keep looking and exploring what is best for us.
Thanks a lot. We just discovered ArcGIS QuickCapture which may be a better solution for us. It's available for Windows and can display your current location on the map.
As of November, the word was that ESRI was not developing a Windows 10 version of Field Maps. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-field-maps-questions/when-is-field-mapping-going-to-be-made-available-for-windows-10/td-p/221083
If enough people ask for it, they might build it. Explorer might be your best bet for now.
