Editing Feature Templates and Defaults

Question

Is it/will it ever be possible to add map-specific field attribute defaults within Field Maps on a feature service in Arcgis Server (as opposed to agol hosted)? I know I can add defaults when publishing the map/feature service, but I'd like to be able to configure defaults that are different in each map/form.

Hi Andy,

It is not possible to configure map-specific attributes defaults on feature services, but a workaround would be to publish multiple copies of the same feature layer with unique defaults and then to rename the layer in each map to make it appear as the same feature service. I will pass your suggestion on to be able to have map-specific attribute defaults for consideration in future updates of Field Maps.
