Our organization is using an Enterprise parcel fabric in ArcGIS Pro, and we are interested in the ability to configure measurement units within the attributes pane for COGO enabled fields.

Currently, while working within the attributes pane, our organization often encounters situations where the default distance units do not align with the specific requirements of our survey plan integration workflow. This is particularly evident in cases where the original survey units on the survey plan are in a different distance measurement unit (ft, chains, etc.) than the measurement unit in our database (meters). This occurs with the vast majority of older plans that we receive.

We often need to update values in the original units to match the plan we have received; however, we do not require that they be stored in the database in the older units (storage in current units is fine). In such cases, having the flexibility to customize the Distance field units directly within the attributes pane would greatly enhance the efficiency of our processes.

By incorporating this feature, our mappers would be able to seamlessly switch between various distance units which would definitely improve the overall user experience.

In the ArcMap environment, this feature was easily accomplished by specifying the units in Plan properties- so all we had to do was open the Parcel Details view and edit the values there. The current workaround involves converting the units independently outside of the ArcGIS Pro environment and entering them in the attribute pane once converted into the default database units. This is time-consuming and inconvenient.

The idea would be similar to the way the Traverse tool allows the user to configure units per feature using a drop down in the row.

This same idea to specify units in the attribute pane would not only apply to the Distance field, but also apply to the other COGO enabled fields- Radius, Arc Length, Radius 2- to allow for user measurement unit configuration. The option to select direction units (Naz, SAz, P, QB) for the Direction field from an adjacent drop down is already available in the attribute pane configuration options. Why not extend this feature to the other COGO fields?
