GIS Day, celebrated on November 21 at Colegiul Tehnic CF ,,Unirea” from Pașcani marks the importance of geographic information systems (GIS) in the modern world.
Students in Grade 9-C took their first steps into the world of GIS by creating their own interactive maps (story maps) using the ArcGIS platform. This innovative initiative, carried out in collaboration with older students, demonstrates the potential of GIS in education, providing young people with modern tools to explore and understand the world around them.
GIS Day annually brings together specialists from around the world to discuss the latest trends and demonstrate the impact of GIS on a wide range of fields, from urban planning and natural resource management to environmental studies and sustainable development.
