Creating an indented select_one list

I have been trying to do indents on a long, categorized list in a dropdown, similar to this:

I tried using this html styling:

And got what I wanted in the Survey123 Connect preview:

But when I publish the form and then view it in Edge/Chrome/Firefox, this is what I get:
