I'm trying to create some simple storymaps based on 3 different point variables. In the builder, you can edit the data source and there is an option to "Filter & Sort" but I don't see a way to actually filter the data. Am I missing something? You can sort by an attribute and choose a max number of places, but there is no "Filter" option within the "Filter and Sort" tab.

@Kim_Graham - Thanks for sharing your feedback. Our team does not currently have plans to add filtering to the story builder. I'd recommend that you submit this idea on the ArcGIS Ideas Board so others can upvote it if they would also find this valuable.
For now, perhaps it would be helpful for us include a note on that tab to help clarify the types of filtering available and where to apply them. We will look into this.
Hi @Kim_Graham! The filtering on that tab refers to the controls that let you specify the max number of places and to show only places that have media attachments. If you want to do an attribute filter you can do that by creating a feature layer view and then pick that as the data source for your map tour.

I feel like calling that "Filtering" is a bit misleading when you consider what the filtering tool does from within ArcGIS Online - a user would expect the terminology to carry over to other aspects of the Esri environment.
Do you plan to bring attribute filtering into Storymaps? I'm not overly excited about making a bunch of views for non hosted layers...
