Traverse Tool - Cancel only clears out entries in the Traverse Tool menu but does not remove features

We are using ArcPro 3.1.3 with COGO enabled line layers.  When using the Traverse tool the Cancel does not remove added features from the data layer it just clears out the records that were entered in the traverse menu.  Is there a setting we are missing? Is this a feature?
