For example, you have a polyline layer with a sewer pipe and a point layer with a manhole. You want to be able to draw a polyline of a pipe with a manhole at the end, or at the beginning and end, or manholes at a certain interval in meters in one operation.

The only issue is that there currently isn't any way to have them share attributes unless you use attribute rules.
I use the snapping tool to snap my polylines to points.
In our case, the manholes have been gps'ed, so I know drawing in sewer or water lines from one hand hole or manhole to another opening in the line is accurate.

I vectorize utility networks using raster data from topographic and geodetic surveys by comparing the actual location of manhole covers on a high-resolution orthophoto. I've seen a similar drawing function in AutoCAD and would like to implement it in ArcGIS as my main software.
