Hey,

I am working on developing a field maps project for my students and have run into a weird bug. The work flow is as follows:

  1. Create a new feature class in ArcGIS Pro
  2. Add fields and domains to the new feature class
  3. Create a map with published custom basemap using Vector Tiles in ArcGIS Pro
  4. Publish webmap and data to ArcGIS Online
  5. Customize Smart Forms in Field Maps
  6. Collect Data
  7. Validate and finalize data
  8. Create an Instant App to share results.

Now the issue I have is that the new feature classes we are using to collect data with Field Maps has an extent for the entire world. It does not automatically adjust the extent as data is collected. This is not an issue while collecting the data, but once we get to Instant Apps filtering by the feature zooms the entire app out to entire world and you can't see the features or anything else.

Any suggestions on what I am missing to make sure the extent changes? The only way I have found to change the extent, is export the data to my geodatabase, change the extent with the geoprocessing tool, and republishing, but this seems like a dumb workaround. I wasn't able to change it in ArcGIS Online or by running the geoprocessing tool on the published feature service for some reason. If it matters, using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro 3.3.x

Thanks,

Andrew

Hello @aclark2_fanshawe , can you try going to your Feature Layer in ArcGIS Online. Select View Details > Settings > Manage Indexes section, then select Rebuild Indexes. This will set the Extents to the size of the data within it, so your App should then not zoom out to the entire world.
