Good afternoon,
In the environmental field here and have a creator license provided the state that I work for. I am ok with ArcMap but was recently upgraded to AGOL to make field data collection into map creation easier. I have yet to experiment with field maps, but at the moment, I am trying to make a boundaries and buffers off points collected in the field via a handheld Garmin GPS. I am able to create a polyline layer but I am having difficulty making a buffer off this boundary. Following the FAQ's online, I am not seeing the buffer icon to even create one, it just isn't where it says it will be. Do I not have that ability with a creator license? I can easily create polylines and buffers in ArcMap, is there a step I'm missing?
I appreciate any help I can get on the first question of many.
@OleHickory first can you check the role you have been assigned, you can check this in my settings once logged into ArcGIS Online. You will need a publisher or above to be granted permission to perform analysis https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/administer/member-roles.htm
Are you using the "Map Viewer" or "Map Viewer Classic" in ArcGIS Online? The documentation will be different between the two.
Once confirmed you can follow the steps in the following document to access the analysis tools via the Map Viewer https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/analyze/perform-analysis-mv.htm#:~:text=gbl%20module.-,Acces...
