Hello,
I am having some issues using the Network Analyst Tools with Streetmap Premium. My intent is to create an Origin-Destination Cost Matrix (ODCM) between 20 origins and ~6500 destinations, and I am using "Truck Distance" as my impedance type. When calculating costs for this many locations, i typically change the "Driving a Truck" restriction from "Prohibited" to "Avoid High", because any cost i get associated with that is sufficient. However, when i do that, some of the destination locations are appearing to be much further away. In one example, the ODCM says the travel path for an OD-Pair is ~300 miles with the Restriction set to "Prohibited", but it goes up to over 700 miles when i change the restriction to "Avoid High".
When running the ODCM, you only see straight lines as the routes, so i moved my analysis to just "Route", to calculate the route for this O-D pair. When running with the Driving a Truck Restriction as Prohibited, i get the same result. However, when i run it with Avoid High, i get this error message: "The solver could not generate the geometry for one or more features in "Routes". The network dataset needs to be rebuilt, or the data license does not cover the extent of the analysis."
For reference, the coordinates for the origin and destination are -93.1327, 44.8359 and -93.4027, 48.5890 respectively. Also, the destination is very close to the Canadian border. not sure if that matters
any insight would be helpful.
Do you have your own local copy of the Streetmap Premium that you are using? Not AGOL. I tried using AGOL with your data and scenario and the route worked fine. Gave me a route with 475.5 Km.
It could be an issue with the version of SMP data you have and the hierarchy settings. So, try turning off hierarchy and then resolve. The hierarchy setting is on the same area when you are changing restrictions, expand the advanced section and turn hierarchy off.
