The latest update (version 3.4) of ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud released today. This update includes key enhancements and stability fixes to address feedback from the community here and through Esri's support channels. Improvements to both key plug-in workflows - that enable working with ArcGIS Pro AIX files, and direct map-creation in Illustrator with ArcGIS organization content are included. Below is a summary. For more details, see this blog

  • Improvements to the performance of opening AIX files exported with ArcGIS Pro and directly syncing a maps in Illustrator with default mapping profile.
  • Improved layer organization of Bar chart elements added with ArcGIS Pro layouts
  • Added support to directly use OGC layers such as WFS, WMS and WMTS for map-creation in the plug-in
  • The plugin is now supported on a Windows 11 OS and latest Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop versions. Please note, the order in which you upgrade the Adobe apps and the plug-in is important. We recommend upgrading Adobe apps first, then reinstalling the plug-in. See updated system requirements before you begin.

Additionally this update also includes usability, accessibility and general stability fixes.

Here is a list of BUGS addressed with this update

  • BUG-000147897 Cannot log into plugin in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop using Google login credentials
  • BUG-000151415 Improve Pro-AIX Processing time (can’t open large files)
  • BUG-000151731 Some ArcGIS Pro label expressions result in unexpected AIX results
  • BUG-000144936 ArcGIS Pro layouts AIX exports with SVG images obscure other layers in Adobe Illustrator
  • BUG-000154524 The Counts and Amounts point symbology on a feature layer appears unexpected when synced in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Syncing a map from the plug-in results in a blank file. This issue was addressed earlier by the Adobe Illustrator team, read more about it in a related community post.

We encourage you to download and upgrade to this latest version at your earliest convenience. We appreciate this communities support and feedback and look forward to staying engaged to continue improving Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud.

Sincerely,

Is there any more information about what Bug 151731 is? The description on the bug page is vague; does it happen to be this?

Hi @wayfaringrob

Thanks for your question. BUG 151731 was related to the text object not appearing correctly in Illustrator when in Pro its defined using jscript label expressions. The resulting labels in Illustrator were not legible, and appeared truncated or completely missing.

The idea for halos is still relevant so we'll keep it open for now and evaluate it for a future update.

 I hope this helps.

Thanks
