The following resources have been readily available for helping to address questions and concerns when using ArcGIS Maps for Power BI:

Since the Power BI Desktop version 2.100.1182.0 64-bit (December 2021), there is a new "Preview Features" setting which can be disabled to help address additional challenges in the short term. Some examples of what types of issues may be resolved are:

  • instances where clearing browser cache usually works
  • instances where geocoding used to work for a particular data field
  • some sign-in issues

For issues like these, you may want to consider the following workflow after reviewing relevant documentation for the parent product:

  • Official support article also available here thanks to @CalvinLietz !
  • In the Power BI Desktop app, navigate to: File> Options and settings > Options> [this opens the Options pane]
  • Then select "Preview Features"> and uncheck the option "Power BI Desktop infrastructure update"
  • Close all open report documents and then restart the Power BI Desktop application

Good news is that the team was able to identify some changes with the Microsoft Power BI dev team about the Infrastructure preview, and we were able to push a change over the weekend that would enable this to work. So customers who have infrastructure preview on by default, should be able to see the layers now.
