Turned on Enable Attachments, now layer has an error for Invalid Argument

I've created a field map of roads being resurfaced and was later asked to enable attachments so road photos could be added. Layer was working just fine until I enabled attachments. Tried going back on the map and under the layers it said "Layer failed to load".

Checked the error and it says:

Code: 2

Description: Invalid Argument

I immediately turned off enable attachments and went back but there was no change. I took the layer off the map and added it back on, no change. I've read solved problems of people having the same issue with invalid argument errors and did what they did, no succession.

If anyone has had this problem, please let me know what you did to fix it!

@RoadAndBridgeGISAdmin  - What you are seeing is the generic error, you should review the logs to find more details.

We have had this issue on various different occasions due to different root causes, some known and some not known.

We have resolved this by doing the following -

  • Review calculated expressions if any?
  • Reviewing the form in FieldMaps Editor
  • Re-saving the form in FieldMaps Editor
  • Update the application
  • Save another copy of the webmap and test that in FieldMaps
  • On certain occasions (on iOS) we have managed to fix this by deleting the fieldmaps folder in "Files" application
