Hello GIS friends,
I'm trying to open Field Maps app on an android phone and when I sign in I get this error.
No available apps
There are no apps currently configured on this device that your organization allows to open this content. Please ensure you are signed in with your work or school account to your managed apps or contact your organization's support team.
However, I'm able to sign in from other devices using the same credentials.
I did a few things but I'm still not having luck.
Cleared cache on the phone
uninstalled - reinstalled Field Maps
Checked for software updates on the phone
Please help.
Thank you,
Abi

Nothing sticks out with those specs, what is the phone model? Sorry if I missed this. Do you know what type of authentication you are using with Enterprise? Also, what is the default Browser on the device and can you/he try changing it?
One suggestion I can make offhand is make sure you’re not signed into online if you’re trying to reach portal, or if you’re trying to reach online make sure you’re not signed into portal. I have coworkers who will mistakenly sign into online when they intend to sign into portal … and when that happens they get a message similar to the one you’re describing.
Hello @AbiDhakal ,
Did this just start occurring today as far as you are aware? Are you able to log in to a different account on this device?
Are you signing in to ArcGIS Online or Enterprise? At what point do you see this error? Thanks!
Hey @ColinLawrence,
Thank you for your patience and for your interest in helping resolve this issue.
This has been ongoing for about a month, but I am not entirely sure of the exact details just yet. I will confirm everything and update you once I have more information.
The issue appears to be with a particular user who is unable to sign in to ArcGIS Enterprise. From what I understand, the error occurs once he enters his credentials and presses Enter. I will be able to provide a more detailed answer after speaking with him—hopefully tomorrow—if he’s not out in the field.
Please note: In the sentence below it should have been 'he and not I'. My apology for the confusion. I think he said the behavior is the same even with a different account. I will let you know for sure.
I haven’t yet tried logging in with a different account, but I plan to do that as well and will let you know the results.
Thank you again for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,
Abi
Hey @ColinLawrence
I got some answers for you.
He thinks, it started when he got his new phone back in June. It basically sounds like it may be a hardware problem. However, we do not know that yet because he seems to be meeting all the android specs for Field Maps and is still having problems signing using not just with his credentials but with any other credentials.
Please ask any other questions.
Thank you,
Abi
Here is android specs for Field Maps versus his android specs::
• Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later - 14
• Processor: ARMv7 or later - Exynos 2200(Armv9)
• OpenGL ES 2.0 support – no idea how to find this ( his new phone should meet this)
Google play services – 24.42.32

Thank you.
We use Portal for ArcGIS Authentication (default authentication). The phone is Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. The default browser he was using was Microsoft Edge.
Once, I had him change the default browser to Chrome, he was able to get in. Does this tell you why Microsoft Edge was not allowing authentication?
Thank you again,
Abi
Field Maps uses the devices default browser to complete the authentication process. It could mean something with Edge is blocked in your Enterprise setup or at least the original error message you shared seems to indicate something along those lines. Do you know if other devices are using Edge and are able to sign in?
On my Apple phone I just changed the default browser from Safari to Edge, and it allowed me to sign in to Field Maps.
Earlier, I had the person clear cookies and made sure pop-ups were allowed on his Android phone, yet it did not allow him to sign in with Edge on Field Maps.
Thank you for your continued interest.
Abi
I tried setting Edge as the default Browser on my Android 14 device and I am able to log in to ArcGIS Enterprise successfully. There are still a lot of variables in play still (settings in Edge or Enterprise) so its hard to say what is really happening without being able to reproduce the problem directly. Feel free to message me directly if you want to continue digging into this.
