Hello,
I'm wondering if functionality changed in Map Viewer as it pertains to hyperlinks. In 10.8 (Map Viewer Classic) we could hyperlink to local pdf files (using Chrome extension to allow opening of local files).
You could have a URL like P:\Photos\MyDoc1.pdf and it would open fine (if you had the chrome extension enabled).
But we've since upgraded our Enterprise Portal to 11.3 and it seems neither Map Viewer or Classic will allow this. The popup seems to not recognize the URL unless it has a https or http prefix.
We really should move our docs to a web server and do this the right way, but wanted to check if anyone has had any success trying to do what I'm suggesting.
Yes, behavior has changed for the newer versions.
Laura, thanks. I've gotten it to work in enterprise 10.8, which is about 5 years later than any post in this thread. And the thread doesn't seem to be pertinent to what I'm talking about?
But in 11.3, the functionality stopped working.
You need https, you can connect to an IIS server. Fine for me in 11.1 & 11.2
As shown here only https/http are supported: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/mapping/configure-pop-ups-custom-attribute-d...
