Hi Jamal,

To the best of my knowledge, arcgisportal folder holds information related to portal security that you apply to the different data and services on the portal, users, roles, groups information, licensing information, federation gis server, and their roles information, and all other portal settings which you see on the interface. Under the hood, it uses postgreSQL to store users, roles, and authentication-related information, but the folder never stores any spatial data as such (hosted or referenced).

Whereas arcgisdatastore folder stores spatial data mainly hosted data.

Even When publishing with “map image” option under the “copy all data section”, the physical data is saved in “arcgisserver” folder (as per the screenshot below) but not in “arcgisdatastore”.

What could be the issue here?

Only data for Hosted layers will be saved in the "arcgisdatastore" folder. Map Image layers are not Hosted, so the data for them is saved within the "arcgisserver" folder.

The "arcgisdatastore" folder contains all the configuration settings and data for the ArcGIS DataStore component(s). Hosted layers, 3D web scenes, real-time data are examples of items stored in that folder.

The "arcgisportal" folder contains the settings and content for the Enterprise Portal. All items (web maps, web apps, dashboards, etc.) have their files stored here.

Then how layers can be set as “hosted”?

Under the "Copy all data" section, choose the "Feature" button

Under the “copy all data” section, as the feature is selected, the “publish” button gets grayed out.

What could be the issue here?
