Problem modeling towers and high structures

Hello,

I am using Drone2Map 2024.1 to extract DSMs from drone nadir imagery. Calculating the aerotriangulation is no problem (having good results) and extracting a good DSM for most of the area functions well but high rise elements like church towers or cell towers cause problems almost every time. They do not get modeled. Image overlap is not the problem, as those problematic structures show up in up to 8 or more images.

I use dense matching Point Cloud Density: Ultra

Project Resolution: Automatic: 1x

Initial Image Scale: 1/8

Refine Adjustment: 1

Tie Point Residual Error Threshold: 5

Matching Neighborhoo: X-Large

Camera Calibration: activated for all parameters

In other software like ITwin Modeler Capture those problematic structures are being modeled in a good way.

Can you help me please? Many thanks in advance!

Best regards

Lars

Hi @LarsUngerechts ,

I am sorry to hear you are seeing some unexpected results. Based off the settings you shared, you are processing at the highest quality to be expected. We are always looking to improve our output products though. Would you be willing to share an example set of imagery with me that reproduces the reconstruction issues? Id like to pass it onto our developers for further review. If so, feel free to email me: mbarker@esri.com

Regards,

Mark
