I  have an old version of ArcGIS (9.3).  The machine it was on died an absolute death.  It does not start up at all.  Therefore, I cannot access Desktop Administrator to deauthorize it.  The only instructions on line are to access Desktop Administrator and do it.  But the online instructions refer to selections in Desktop Administrator  that do not exist for 9.3.

The only useful information I have seen in that regard is to contact your regional representative  or tech support whichever is easiest.  They will require information in order to reinstate the license.

Thanks for your reply. Since it’s Saturday, no help available.

With ArcGIS 9.3 Desktop, you don't necessarily need to deauthorize the license, if you have the following things.

1. The License file (*.efl9 or *.esu9).

2. The hardware key (dongle).

3. Installation setup media

If you have the above items with you, you could just authorize the license in a new machine. You might need to install latest Sentinel Key Driver for the dongle to work in a new machine.

I never needed a dongle. My registration code was UNK123723068.
