Hi there,

I enjoy the exploratory 3D analysis function in ArcGISPro. It's a good tool for making quick decisions. I like to use the cut/fill function and usually my TINs have small relief differences so I set a vertical exaggeration to better recognise the terrain.
Why is it that terrain heights (displayed Z values) as well as calculated volumes in the cut/fill tool are also displayed twice as large for me with a 2-time vertical exaggeration? The vertical exaggeration is only virtual - isn't it,  a contour line of 120m is still a 120m contour line. However, the output values are always enlarged according to the vertical exaggeration. But when i use the info-button and perform an info-click on the TIN-surface the elevations value is the real, non exaggerated one (as it should be).

This doesn't make any sense to me - especially not in a tool like the exploratory 3D analysis. Imagine sitting in a meeting with your customer, showing him his DEM and he asks you to calculate the volume of the sink or the dump we can see in the DEM on the screen. " no its not 3.000 m³ - i am sorry - we have to divide this by 3, because the DEM ist exaggerated by 3"

Thanks!
