Hi @BillFox , Correct, Urban will be available on Enterprise with 11.3. Please keep in mind that the technical limitations you mentioned in your initial comment regarding local coordinate systems will be the same on Enterprise 11.3 as on the ArcGIS Online version of Urban.

Hi @BillFox , There is no difference between Urban on ArcGIS Online and Urban on Enterprise regarding on-the-fly reprojections between global and (projected) coordinate systems, web scenes, and urban models. This is an overall platform limitation. There definitely exist workarounds, like publishing your own 3D base layers, base map, or elevation layer. For a more profound analysis of your use case, including possible workarounds, I'm happy to connect you with one of our urban planning consultants. Just send me a direct message if that would be of interest to you. If you'd like to give the need for on-the-fly reprojections more weight, please feel free to submit an Idea on either the ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise Place, here in the Esri Community. If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out.

Hi @BillFox , Thanks for your question. Some functionality is unavailable in local Urban Models because Esri's 3D web platform only supports on-the-fly projection between coordinate systems for non-cached layers (e.g., hosted feature layers). The 3D base layers, the default basemaps, the default elevation layer, and the Living Atlas indicators are provisioned as cached layers in either the Web Mercator or the WGS84 coordinate system. They can only be displayed in global scenes. The street-level imagery feature builds upon the Mapillary platform, which only supports WGS84 coordinate systems. All of the above data items display well in global scenes and urban models, regardless of whether the data is in the Web Mercator or WGS84 coordinate system. However, these items don't work in local scenes and urban models. This is an overall limitation of Esri's web 3D platform, and I'm unaware of any plans to change this behavior. If you have follow-up questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Hi @BillFox , Thank you very much for reaching out and informing us that you were experiencing issues with displaying the Living Atlas Indicators in Urban. I quickly checked myself and couldn't reproduce the issues you reported. Are you still experiencing them today? ArcGIS Online (which provides the Indicator data) and Urban released a new version yesterday. It might well be that the issues you experienced were caused by some hick-ups during the release process. If you have further questions, please reach out.

@MelanieNeedle support for better distinguishing undevelopable vs. developable areas might be added to Urban in the longer term. For now, I'd recommend two things: 1) Use the existing tools provided by Esri's product portfolio in general and ArcGIS Urban in particular to build a workflow that helps you solve the task. Please let me know if you and your organization would need support with this. We could connect you with a subject matter expert from our Consulting Services team. 2) Feel free to submit an ArcGIS Urban product idea with as many details as possible. This helps us better understand your particular use case, and other users can share their thoughts and upvote your idea if they face similar tasks that need to be accomplished.

Hi @MelanieNeedle , Thanks for your question. The suitability tool allows you to assess whether a parcel is suitable for development based on various criteria, ranging from parcel and zoning properties to almost any other criteria from an external layer. It definitely sounds like it's worth it for you to explore the suitability tool's capabilities, even though I don't know the details of your challenge at hand. The following resources might be of interest to you: High-level blog post about the suitability tool What's New Webinar from Summer 2021 where the tool was introduced - fast forward to 18:37. Hi @MelanieNeedle , Thanks for sharing the screenshot. How Urban determines the zoning parameters applicable to a parcel Urban uses the parcel centroid to determine the relevant zoning parameters from zones and overlays for a given parcel. To calculate the parcel centroid, Urban applies an approach where the centroid is always inside the parcel geometry - e.g., for concave parcels. In the example you shared, it looks as if the parcel's centroid is just outside the green-hatched overlay area. Therefore, the overlay coverage value of 0% is not reflected in the building regulation side panel. "Allowed" zoning parameters in building regulation side panel The "Allowed" column in the building regulation side panel reports what's maximally allowed for each zoning parameter individually. The values reported there do not change depending on other parameters' values. In your case, a 0% coverage won't impact the reported number of dwelling units in the "Allowed" column of the building regulation side panel. The interdependency among the different zoning parameters comes into play when you develop a parcel by applying a building type. If your parcel doesn't allow any coverage (0%), you'll see that no dwelling units will be built when applying a dwelling units building type on that parcel. When a parcel is developed, you'll see a second column called "Built" in the building regulation side panel. To learn more about working with dwelling units in ArcGIS Urban, I can highly recommend this blog post. Thanks, Dominik

Hi @MelanieNeedle , Happy New Year, and thanks for your question. Advanced overlay settings The advanced overlay settings let you configure how the zoning parameters configured on an overlay boundary interact with zoning parameters of the underlying zoning boundaries. By default, a zoning parameter configured on an overlay boundary replaces the zoning parameter of the underlying zone. The remaining 4 options have the following effect: Maximum: the zoning parameter on the underlying zone is only replaced if the corresponding zoning parameter on the overlay boundary is higher than the one on the zone. Minimum: the zoning parameter on the underlying zone is only replaced if the corresponding zoning parameter on the overlay boundary is lower than the one on the zone. Add: the zoning parameter value on the underlying zone is added to the corresponding value on the overlay boundary. Subtract: The zoning parameter value on the overlay boundary is subtracted from the corresponding value on the underlying zone. Number of dwelling units as reported in the building regulation panel The number of dwelling units as reported in the building regulation panel is driven by two factors: The parcel area The applicable "Dwelling units density" value for the given parcel. This value can either be configured on the zoning, overlay or parcel level. See Zoning regulation management in our docs to learn more about where you can configure zoning regulations. Generally, a zoning parameter configured on an overlay replaces the corresponding value of the underlying zone. Any zoning parameter configured on the parcel level, replaces the corresponding value of the underlying zone and overlay. Effect of overlays on metrics Would you mind providing an example of what you mean by "what effect the overlays have on metrics"? In case of further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks, Dominik

Hi @ScottEdmondson , We are aware that deleting an urban model is currently missing. The feature will be added with a future release. Happy to hear that you figured out the workaround to delete an urban model. Just a clarifying remark to ensure that you don't keep unnecessary items in your ArcGIS Online (AGO) account: An urban model consists of 3 AGO items in total: An Urban Model item A feature layer (named after the urban model suffixed with "Database") A feature layer view (named after the urban model suffixed with "Database View") You need to delete all three items to remove your urban model completely. On the details page of the Urban Model item there are links to the associated feature layer and feature layer view items. This makes it easier to identify all items associated with the urban model itself. Please reach out in case of additional questions. Thanks.

Hi @ScottEdmondson , Thanks for your question. The calculation section in the metric dialog is a summary of the configured metric connections for a particular metric. To dig deeper into how the values are calculated and what is actually contributing to the final result, I recommend to also inspect the individual metric connections: Switch to the graph view of your metrics. Click Edit connection button ( ) of any metric connection to see the details about a particular connection. For example for the connection between "Net space area" and "Daily trips" you can see that only the space uses of type "Retail" and "Industrial - Warehouse" are contributing: For the metric connection between "Jobs" and "Daily trips", only 4 space use types are contributing to daily trips. For the connection between "Population" and "Daily trips" you can see that there are no space use type parameters configured - meaning that only the "Household" metric is actually contributing to the number of trips generated by any residential space use. Even though you might think that some triple counting happens when just looking at the "Daily trips" metrics dialog, you can see that it's not the case when digging deeper into the individual metric connections. Please don't hesitate to reach out in case of further questions. Thanks, Dominik
