After our IT department installed the tutorial data for ArcGIS 10, users were unable to edit (add Ranger Stations) in Exercise #1. However, to work around this, users were asked to create their own directories, then "copy" the tutorial data that was install into the new directory that they had created. Then, when users opened the exercise from this directory that they themselves created, they were able to complete the exercise as intended. Is there a reason for this undocumented snag to be occuring? I've attached a screen shot of the error that appears when attempting to edit the exercise without having created one's own set to edit.
