Dear all,

I would like to use the land cover data provided by GLCC/USGS, that are provided in Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area (optimized for Europe) Projection (I think it is spheroid based). The data is a raster map and one has to self add the information about the projection (Define Projection in ArcGIS). Details are given here: http://edc2.usgs.gov/glcc/eadoc2_0.php. I have also appended the header file that I am using right now (has to be renamed to .hdr for use).

Using ArcGIS 9.3, the needed Projection seems not to be available in the drop down list. Is it? Can find only the Polar ones. I would like to use this data and intersect with Points in WGS84 Projection. For that the Projection in the land cover data has to be correct. But I cannot get it to overlay!? Help on the GLCC/USGS website is only for ArcInfo users...

Please can anybody help me to solve this issue? Would help me a great deal to find out which food the birds that I study prefer.

Thanks!
Andrea
