I'm preparing a large data set to test several spatial analysis tools. But after reviewing the statistics behind some of these functions I was wondering if my data set needs to be normally distributed? My data (which is ready to go and geocoded), does not follow a normal distribution and I have been using non-parametric statistics to date.
Can the spatial tools in ArcGIS (like clustering and hot spot analysis) be done using non-parametric data or should I transform the data so it is normal before proceeding?
Any help would be very valuable!!
