Is there a way to add rows by performing a join in Arc 10? Or does a join only insert columns?
Thank you very much it worked. However I had to export the excel table into dBase table in arc first. It was possible because it was a smaller dataset. Now my problem is that the excel table data is too large to export into dBase formate. I let it run over night and No Export ??. Is there a way to convert the excel documents to dBase without exporting data in Arc???
Try this...
Create a new file geodatabase/or use an existing one and then use the Excel to Table tool in ArcToolbox and save the output table from the tool into the file geodatabase. I've done this with some pretty massive excel sheets.
Excel to Table tool:

You should be able to do all this from within ArcCatalog.
