Hi,

I have installed the new version of Esri maps for Microstrategy.

I'd like to use the new print capability for a map in a document. When I add a map in a doc and use the print functionality, it results in a red cross in my print preview/pdf. However, the image has been created in C:\Program Files (x86)\MicroStrategy\Web ASPx\plugins\em4mstr\temp.

Please see attached video: http://screencast.com/t/rHK0Aqqhse

Any help on this?

Marco

Hi Marco,
the issue might have to do with the use of localhost, can you try using the FQDN e.g. "http://machine.domain.com/MicroStrategy/asp...". See if this helps?

Thanks for your reply. By using the FQDN, it results in the same behavior. So, still a red cross in the print/pdf and an image file in the temp folder. Any further suggestions?

Hi, Marco

I'm the one of many who like the video you recorded and the workflow you conducted.

Did you check the utility service setting at your ArcGIS Online site configuration?

It is automatically set up with ArcGIS online printing services for all clients/applications that utilized via ArcGIS online to enable printing. If it has been changed by accident, you may need to change it back to the default.

Would you please let us know the progress? I would like to test with my setting with portal for arcgis.

Hi Marco/ Choong-man
This issue is usually related to the web server aplication settings for reading files in the temp folder where the maps are stored during printing.

Can you verify that you have correct permission to read files in this temp page
By browsing to e.g. http://localhost/MicroStrategy/plugins/em4mstr/temp/img8723680261955235670.png.
If you do not have permission to read this file change these permissions in the iis manager settings to enable users to read files in this directory. and retry printing the map again.
Cheers
Chaka
