Spreading around schema boxes

How come there is a limit as to how far out you can spread out your schema boxes? I want to manually move around the boxes but when I drag items around, they stop after a certain distance.

I know it's been a long time since you posted, but it took me a while to figure this out, so maybe it will help others:
If you have nothing selected, the properties box shows the properties of the canvas. There's a property called AutoSize. If you set it to True, it'll enable scroll bars to extend to your full canvas size.
Then if you create some object and in its properties send it to some far distant corner of the canvas by updating its X and Y attributes under the Misc Properties section, it seems to let you move anything else that far too.
But mine has been a bit finicky. If someone has better instructions, I'd love to hear them.
