Problem clipping a large tif file

Hi all, apologies if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where else to post.

I'm working with a large .tif raster file in Arcmap. I need to export this to another program which will accept only .shp files. However, I am only interested in a small section of the file and want to cut out the rest of the data as it will not import to the second program at this size.

I have attempted to do this using the clip tool. However, it will not allow me to use my current layer file as an input feature as it is not a "feature layer". Is it possible to convert my layer to a feature layer?

Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
