Extract Values to Points (without Spatial Analyst)

Hello, is there a way to extract values (elevation) from a grid-file by using a point-shape. I have no Spatial Analyst and also the workaround by converting the raster in to a vector format is also no solution, because the raster is pretty big (1m raster, 5x6km).
Any suggestions?

Have a look at the suites of tools from http://www.spatialecology.com/

Depending on what version of ArcGIS you're running you'll either want Hawths Tools or the Geospatial Modelling Environment.

Both have an 'Intersect Point Tool' that will do what you require.
