[This is not related to GeoEvent Processor functionality]

I was working on the tutorial for GeoEvent Processor:

http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#/Making_features_come_alive/01540000066t000...

Step 2 was to create a File GeoDatabase and in step 7 map service is created with feature access.

Is this something new in 10.2, that a layer from file gdb can used in the mxd used to create a map service with feature access.

Hi Manoj,

This is not new functionality at 10.2.  At the beginning of the tutorial, it states the following:

The steps in this tutorial assume that you have an available ArcGIS Server that has an enterprise geodatabase registered as its managed geodatabase.

See more information about a managed geodatabase here.

If the service type you want to publish requires an enterprise geodatabase, you must first create an enterprise geodatabase and register it as ArcGIS Server's Managed Database. When you publish, the data referenced by your GIS resource will be copied into this enterprise geodatabase.
