Forgive me for the very general question here, but I am wondering if someone could explain the relevance of using a geoprocessing service for a project workflow not intended for public use. We have a Python script that is used for weekly processing, and involves procedures in and outside of ArcGIS. The ArcGIS procedures consist of a geocode process and a spatial join process of the geocode output. We intend to migrate this workflow onto our server, which houses our ArcGIS for Server (10.1). Now if the workflow is not intended for distribution beyond our use, would there be any reason to publish the ArcGIS components into a geoprocessing service? It should also be mentioned that the input contains confidential data.
