Since March this year, maybe after the last Microsoft Windows Update, every time I go into ArcMap - Share As Service - Overwrite Existing Service it works sometimes, other times it just hangs at one or other dialog box and does not do anything.

I had no problem doing updates to my Services before March or so, took about 5 min per service. Now, I need to force ArcGIS Desktop to close, re-open it, Share Service over and over again, eventually it does work, but now it takes on average 30 min to 1 hour to Share As Service - Overwrite Existing Service.

Same thing happens when I share a new service and do not do overwrite.

I made no changes to our ArcGIS Server 10.1, SDE, and Desktop, and SQL Server Express 2008 R2 configs.

Would this problem be fixed if I upgrade to 10.1 SP1?

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem?

Any idea why this happening? it is making my work extremely difficult.

My apologies, I already posted on this issue in May. ESRI provided an answer:

When will 10.2 be released?
