Hi there,

is there a way to convert multipatch geometries into a TIN? My goal: I have roofs of buildings which consist of unclosed multipatches and need to calculate the buildings volume. My solution would be to convert the roof into a tin and then use TIN difference (between roof and floor) to calculate the volume.
I found old posts dealing with the subject but nobody was able to give a solution...

Best regards
Pat

Hello!
Just came through this old post. Hope this workflow would helpful to others in some way.

1. Convert multipatch to points using Feature Vertices to Points (ArcInfo/Advance license required).
(Output point features will have Z values stored in their geometry).
2. Edit/remove unwanted points so that just the roof points are left.
3. Create TIN out of these roof points and use Shape.Z as Height Field.

Regards,
Prasanta.
