I was wondering if there is a way to determine south facing roofs within a city. I am doing a project where I trying to determine houses that would be suitable for solar panels. Thank you
This may be oversimplistic, but what about using the Aspect tool? If your roofs are vectors, run the Polygon to Raster tool first, and then use that output for Aspect.
The issue would also have to account for flat roofs, ones with a particular slope, multipitched roofs. So you are going to have to refine your question to deal with these cases. But a combination of slope and aspect is a mental starting point.
