Hi All,
I am attempting to make a predictive model of where a sailboat may go in particular winds and currents.
I have created a predictive model in pathdistance using only wind (and known performance data of my type of sailboat accoriding to wind direction) but I have not yet managed to include the effect currents (not tides, but ocean currents) on my sailboat.
I have vector data for currents that I would like to make into a horizontal cost raster for my boat, but am not sure of the best way of doing this (or if the horizontal cost raster is appropriate for adding the effetcts of the current data to the model).
Has anyone done something similar before or have ideas of how to do this?
The current should operate on the boat the same way it would with predictive floating debris models, does anyone know how to make these in arcgGIS 10?
