Monitoring Long-Running LocalService Instances

Hello -

We are planning to reduce our application's startup time when running against local data by having a windows service start the desired local services.  Then whenever our application starts, the local services are up and ready to be used.

Theoretically the windows service could run for days, keeping these local services running.  Are we at risk of memory leaks with this approach?  Does anyone have any experience monitoring long-running LocalService instances?  We were thinking of continuing to poll the LocalServiceStatus of each service to evaluate the health of the local services, and possibly try to recover from a service going down.

Any LocalService monitoring guidance would be appreciated.
